The POCO X3 Pro might launch in India soon following its BIS approval

Recently, the approval of a new POCO phone by the FCC led to speculation that it will be the Pro version of the X3 on its launch. Now, the same device has been certified by the Indian BIS authority, as well as SIRIM of Malaysia. Therefore, it might also debut in these markets soon.

Recently, the Xiaomi M2102J20SG popped up on the FCC database. However, additional leaks suggest that it has been put there by the brand POCO rather than this OEM. None of this new evidence includes a product name, although this has not stopped rumors that it will be called the X3 Pro on its launch.

Should this be the case, it seems this new POCO X-series variant is destined for further markets. It has reportedly been submitted by Xiaomi India to BIS, and to SIRIM by Xiaomi Malaysia. Despite these new additional leaks, there is remarkably little word as to what this new phone looks like.

Then again, an XDA-linked leaker claims to have heard it will be a quad rear camera with a 48MP main sensor. It is also now touted to be powered by the SM8150 – or Snapdragon 855. This SoC was the flagship processor of 2019, although a new device based on it might comprise more of an upper-midranger now.

Then again, it is just possible that the “SM8150” in this instance might actually be a Snapdragon 860: a refreshed 855 as the new 870 is a renewed 865+. Otherwise, the “X3 Pro” is thought to have 2 SKUs – code-named vayu and bhima – that might differ in terms of storage. Then again, neither Xiaomi or POCO have confirmed any of these details to date.
